Quartet Diamant

Quartet Diamant was formed at Midwest Young Artists Conservatory in the fall of 2015. It consists of violinists Masha Lakisova and Rebecca Moy, violist Natalie Clarke, and cellist Adam Lee. In February 2016, Quartet Diamant won the first place at Rembrandt High School Chamber Music Competition, and received an Honorable Mention at the Discover National Chamber Music Competition. They are very grateful for their incredible coach and mentor, Robert Bassill, and for all the support at MYAC. In addition to chamber music, all four members love playing in MYAC’s Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Maestro Alan Dennis. Individually, they are also highly accomplished solo artists.

Masha Lakisova (14) studies with Grigory Kalinovsky at the Jacobs School of Music in Indiana. She is a laureate of the 22nd International Andrea Postacchini Violin competition and the youngest finalist in the 7th Spohr International Violin Competition. She has learned from and collaborated with many prestigious musicians, such as Pinchas Zukerman, Miriam Fried, Ilya Kaler, Vadim Gluzman, David Shrader. She attended the Heifetz International Music Institute in the summer of 2015, and looking forward to spending her time at the Perlman Music Program this summer. Masha is homeschooled and also loves musical theater. She’s been involved in several
productions, and now is preparing for “Grease”.

Rebecca Moy (15), is a student of Dr. Olga Kaler. She has performed concerts as a Steinway Young Concert Artist, and with the Knox-Galesburg Symphony Orchestra and Chicago Sinfonietta. Previous awards include the DuPage, Sejong, and Walgreens National Concerto Competitions. In her free time, Rebecca enjoys reading and photography. She attends the Classical Consortium in Barrington, IL.

Natalie Clarke (16), is a sophomore at Lake Forest Academy in Lake Forest, IL. She has studied viola for 12 years with Ms. Christine Due.† Natalie has been a student at Midwest Young Artists Conservatory for 10 years and is currently the Assistant Principal Violist of their Symphony Orchestra.† Natalie was the Principal Violist of the District 7, IMEA Orchestra in 2015 and Assistant Principal in the IMEA All-State Honors Orchestra in 2016.† Natalie has received multiple honorable mentions from the Walgreens Concerto Competition and the DePaul Concerto Festivals. Outside from viola, Natalie plays volleyball and sings in her school’s voice ensemble.

Adam Lee (15), is a sophomore at Vernon Hills Highschool, and a student of cello professor Hans Jensen. He recently performed with the Oistrach Symphony Orchestra as winner of the 2016 DePaul Concerto Competition. In addition, Adam has won 1st place at the 2015 WDAV Young Chamber Musicians Competition,Confucius Concerto Competition, and Society of American Musicians Competition. Outside from music Adam likes to spend time with friends and volunteer at various events.
